The Goodwill co-op

@ Emmaus Brighton & Hove

Supporting Emmaus Brighton & Hove by making & creating unique handmade gifts to raise funds for the community.

When I first heard the words”Goodwill-co-op” it felt very exciting, inspiring, it conjured up aspects of co-operation, community, people sharing, socialising together, creating and exchanging ideas, and that of course is exactly what it has turned out to be.

Our fortnightly meetings are well attended. Around 14/15 members gather together to show the various arts and crafts goods that they have made. There is a great atmosphere of goodwill and co-operation. All the materials used are recycled from our workshop where we have a huge variety of goods.

I’m so pleased to be part of this new venture by EMMAUS in an unique development. This is not just an arts and crafts shop. its not just a members’ co-operative , its a totally original project that combines these things together to create a great Community adventure. We have 50 plus members, so come and join us. We are hoping to arrange some social events in the near future. We also have talks occasionally on Saturdays.

Hope to see you there!

Carol

GARDEN CENTRE

Our garden centre is open all year round (outside the main shop) selling a variety of shrubs, plants and second hand garden tools.

We would very much welcome donations of any unwanted garden products including wheel barrows, tools etc along with the unusual like birdbaths, sundials, and any interesting architectural pieces.

If you want to deliver your goods to us yourself please come to our Manor Road entrance. (Gates are at the north end of Manor Road near Drove Road. See travel directions and map here.) We will be pleased to carry your goods from your car. You can ring us first on (01273) 426480 to check that the goods are what we can accept. The warehouse is open Tuesday to Saturday 10 until 5 (and closed on Sundays & Mondays). Check: What we cannot accept.

6.

We can collect good quality furniture that you no longer want.

For all collections (donations) enquiries and advice please call (01273) 426480 from Tuesday to Saturday 10 to 5 (we are closed on Sundays and Mondays).

Please note we are charged money to take rubbish to the tip so we can only accept goods that we can sell ourselves. Check: What we cannot accept.

Fly Tipping.

Please work with us and Brighton & Hove Council and do not leave anything outside the Community at anytime. Goods dumped outside are viewed as fly tipping by the Council, who have recently put signs up along Manor Road informing that this practice it is illegal (and dangerous for road users).

So don’t risk a fine, pop along when we are open and then we can receive and thank you for your donation in person.

The Community is closed all day Sunday and Monday and cannot take any donations during this time.
