Dear friend and supporter of Emmaus Brighton & Hove

We are striving to run our operations as normal, whilst we diligently follow all the current news, information and updates (as you probably are) from both the NHS and the UK Government  We want to keep everybody informed with our actions and plans in order that we can keep our Community, Companions, volunteers, staff, trustees, and the wider community safe. As you may know, Emmaus Brighton & Hove is quite a unique organisation, we are not just a place of work but also currently home for 56 men & women, all who have all experienced homelessness.

Here are some of the steps we are taking to protect everyone in this ever-evolving situation:

OUR COMMUNITY

We want to keep our Community safe and our Companions supported during this unsettling time, whist remaining positive and resilient. In order to protect our Community members, please do not visit us (as much as we will miss you) if you have any symptoms or have been exposed to someone with the virus.

OUR SHOPS AND CAFÉ

We have put extra measures in place to try and help limit the spread of the virus and are using hand sanitiser, screen wipes and we even have extra tissues available on our counters.  From today we will also be introducing self-distancing in our shops and café.  Next time you pop in don’t be surprised to see yellow & black lines on the floor in front of our counters, these will indicate how far you should be from the next person in the queue. Please help us to help you by abiding by this.

DONATIONS

When you next call to donate your unwanted furniture and household goods, please bear in mind that we will need to ask you a couple more questions just to ascertain if anyone in the household is self-isolating and to  ensure that it is safe for our van crews to call at your property.

COLLECTIONS & DELIVERIES

Our delivery teams have been provided with additional hand sanitiser and disposable gloves to be worn and disposed of on completion of each collection or delivery job.  From today we will call you before your delivery/collection slot to make sure it is safe for our van crews to enter the property and you are still happy for us to carry out the job.

If you do need to self-isolate for any reason prior to your booking, please simply get in touch and we can rearrange this for a later date, likewise if we are unable to carry out any collections or deliveries, we will be in touch with you.

EVENTS
We have now cancelled all events and Talks & Tours for the next couple of months.

We would like to reassure you that the wellbeing of our Companions, staff, volunteers and customers will be our number one priority. We thank you for your ongoing support which enables Emmaus to provide a home, support and opportunity to our Companions.
