How to find us...
By bus
We are on the no.1 (or 1A) bus route from Brighton to Mile Oak.
Get off at St Nicolas Church in Portslade Old Village. Emmaus is about 100 metres away. Walk up Manor Road, past the tree in the middle of the road. Take first left — also called Manor Road — and enter the Emmaus gardens through the wrought-iron gates. The chapel shop is on your right. You can enter this way during opening hours or walk around the outside of the house through the gardens until you come to the car park, café and shop.
The bus takes about 25 minutes from Churchill Square in Brighton, or 5 minutes from the stop south of Portslade station.
By train
Train to Brighton Station, then change train to Portslade and proceed as below from Portslade station.
Train to Portslade Station (fast direct service from London Victoria via Gatwick and Hove — this train does not stop at Brighton. After Portslade it continues to Worthing.), walk 5 minutes south from Portslade railway station along Station Road to bus stop 'A' beyond New Church Road and take bus no.1 to Mile Oak. Get off at St Nicolas Church, Portslade Old Village as above (buses run every 7 minutes, travel time about 7 minutes). Alternatively, walk (1 mile) west from Portslade station along Victoria Road, then north up Trafalgar Road & Locks Hill to St Nicolas Church.
By car
We are in Portslade Old Village north of the Old Shoreham Road A270.
Turn north up Locks Hill at the traffic lights at Tates car showroom. Take first right into Manor Road, then first left — also called Manor Road. Continue past the ‘goods entrance’ and turn left at the end of Manor Road into Drove Road.
Emmaus is clearly signed a short way down on the left. Drive through the gates to the car park.
